So here I was, starting my research to put together a great online video guide for decabled.com and what do I come across? The Online Video Guide at OVGuide.com.
“OVGuide.com categorizes and organizes more than 3,290 online destinations, offering both short- and long-form videos integrated into an editorialized directory and search engine. The site receives more than 35 million visitors, 150 million pageviews, and 36 million searches per month. A team of experienced editors review all content prior to publishing it to OVGuide.com, ensuring all sites are valuable and categorized appropriately.”
Well that sounds pretty good to me. Having just poked around there for a bit, I think this might be a very promising new weapon in the decabled arsenal. Let us know what you think of it (and any of your favorite sites) in the Comments!

Thanks for that! I’m tired of relying on Apple TV for all my TV shows which more and more are having serious quality issues.
Thanks Jeff. I am looking forward to reading more about your decabled adventure. I checked out ovguide.com and was able to find one of my favorites, The Unit, and the streaming worked great. I have tried to use CBS’s website before with terrible results. This is going to be a good alternative.
I enjoy your spot on commandN, its great.
Andrew: What kind of quality issues?
Bruce: Happy to help!
Thanks for the comments,
Jeff
Awesome Blog Jeff. I have been wanting to do something like this myself. I have a couple of suggestions for some posts. I think the main problem with online aired TV content is sifting through the junk and controlling the legitimate content to fit your needs. Between Hulu and Netflix you can do pretty good though. I would assume you have looked at Boxee?
Neondog82: Have looked at Boxee and am considering soft modding my Apple TV to include it. Definitely let me know any ideas you have for posts by email (jeff at commandn.tv) or through the comments.

I have been trying to put Boxxee on my Apple TV … it is a serious pain in the butt. It takes like three tries to get it right. Why cant they figure out a download that i can do over the internet, rather than plugging in my usb drive (which of course i have to re-format). How can they build a business model on requirting users to do that.
All that being said, once you have it it greatly expands the capabilities of your Apple TV. I cant wait for OVGuide to get onto Boxxee because as great as Hulu is there are a lot of movies and old seasons that i want to watch that arent avaialble on there.
I am really glad i have the PC to TV cord going because i have been watching all of season 3 and 4 of Lost on OVGuide on my HDTV in preperation of the New Season STarting next Wednesday.
LOVE YOU OVGUIDE AND GREAT ARTICLE JEFF!!!!!
Timmy: I think the big thing is that Apple doesn’t want to make it easy to do that (although, frankly, I have to give them some credit for leaving a loophole open so that others can, with some concerted effort, do these things). So are you using the aTV Flash drive to get Boxee on Apple TV?
PS: Yeha, I’m loving OVGuide too
